Warm weather precautions

June 13, 2010

A note from SUE

“your pet kidz pal!”

“Warm weather is here!”

Increasing temperatures can require some additional planning for your pet kidz. With warmer weather, there are some things to keep in mind:

  • *Provide shade and plenty of cool water to outdoor dogs.
  • *Be aware while doing outdoor activities, watch for changes in breathing rate, activity level, alertness and behavior changes.
  • *A good practice: Bring water along on your walks
  • do not walk in the hottest portion of the day.

Vomiting, excessive diarrhea, listlessness or lethargy, decrease in appetite are some of the warning signals that may require veterinary attention.
